'The other one I use to keep me pain free it's called THRESHHold Real MSM' - #Ashinthwela Mr. 1500km

Ever wondered how to run 1500km in 31 consecutive days and 105 kilometre on the last day without getting injured? Well Maphuthi Monyamane has the answer. Better known as bus driver with a heart of gold, this loveable social runner has been championing a drive to raise R105 000 to buy school uniforms for sixty kids from his village of Ga-Matlala in Limpopo for the 2022 academic year. The initiative began which began in July comes to an end on Saturday when Monyamane will run 105km.

But perhaps even more surprising than the fact that he would put his body through this torture for the sole benefit of others, is that he has kept going without breaking down. How does he do it? "I'm using Herbalife products. The one for endurance is called Rebuild Endurance. That's the one that I take 24 hours before and after my session. The second one that I take is called CR7 which is a carbohydrate eletcrolyte drink which I take during the course of the run. And the third product from Herbalife is called Hydrate. I mix the sachets with water and that's to keep me hydrated at all times," he told #TheTopRunner.

The Urithi Athletic Club runner also drinks a high caffeine Herbalife tea every morning before the first of his two daily sessions. He has had to run twice a day to clock his average daily mileage of 48km in what he has called the #FearofUnkown challenge. The man who ran 9:01:27 at the 2019 Comrades Marathon is no stranger to a punishing high mileage training regime and says one of his secrets to ensure he remains injury free is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory.

"The other one I use to keep me pain free it's called THRESHHold Real MSM. This one is nature's anti-inflammatory for painful conditions. It's for those small knocks and niggles on the body. This product helps me with that. I started using the products in August when we ran 400km in eight days during The Icon's Journey Marathon in the Eastern Cape," he revealed. "Also remember to get enough sleep to recover from the session." This cocktail of pre and post workout supplements combined with Moringa Leaf Powder has kept the man from Boksburg strong and motivated ahead of the last big run when he intends to run 105km in under twelve hours in order to complete his epic challenge.

Still short of his R105 000 target, Monyamane is encouraging runners to join him in Muldersdrift on Saturday 23 October to run alongside him. Runners can choose from 15km, 42km or the full 105km distance. The run costs just R150 with roughly half of that going towards the charity drive and the other chunk put towards refreshments for what will be a long day on the hilly roads of Johannesburg's West Rand.
